Subject: Reincarnation  ??!!

Peace Adam & Chancellor,

I wasn't a very good submitter but God scares all the time in my mind even when i was playing some hard music in the studio. I have a question.

What do you think of REINCARNATION? Is there any such thing? Quranic verses?

Peace, Rock

Peace Rock,

According to the Quran, this is our last chance on earth to worship God.  There are no verses in the Quran that support reincarnation.  The simple logic to me is that who would want to come back to this earth if they could be in the presence of God Almighty?  According to the Quran, those who don't get it right in this lifetime will never get it right even if they came back.  Check out these links for more info. on your question.

Subject: Adam and Eve.

Dear young Eve,

1.)I was wondering, since Adam and Eve were the first people on earth, did
their children marry each other in order to make children?

According to my understanding of the Quran, they were the first people on earth.  I would think that the answer to the second part of your question would be yes.

If so, would that mean that we're all brothers and sisters, and we get
married to our brothers and sisters?

Well, thousands of years have passed by since that time.  This means that the relationship between a married couple is no longer as brother and sister.

2.)Is it true that you are not allowed to celebrate birthdays?

False.  This is a fabrication that people have made up and is not supported by the Quran

3.)There's a school dance coming up in about a month.  I was wondering, if
someone asks me, can i accept? It's not really a date.  In my school, if
someone asks you out to a dance, you just dance with them, and nothing else.
You're never alone either.  The dance is supervised, and ends early (4:30
pm)

That's a tricky question.  I know that your intentions are pure and that you will not have any physical contact with this person and that you want to just dance for fun.  What I am worried about is the intention of the other person.  Of course, I am not saying that you should doubt a this persons intentions or be suspicious of them.  I think it would be better to dance as a group of friends rather than putting yourself in a situation where there is only the two of you.

God bless,

Adam

Subject: Careers, Sports and Entertainment.

Dear Adam:

Salaam: What is your opinion on choosing sports or entertainment as a profession?  A close relative of mine is in boxing and wants to become a professional boxer.  Is boxing wrong? It means fighting with another human being for no reason.I personally don't like this.

Is there anything wrong with  watching sports or participating in competitive sports? Is it a waste of time? What about wanting to be an actor or actress? It seems to me that these are not worthwhile careers.  Is there anything in the Quran that advises us on these? Please let me know your thoughts on these. Thanks,

Just Wondering

Dear Just Wondering,

What an interesting question!  The Quran does not advise us regarding specific careers.  However, we can use the guidance from the Quran in order to establish certain guidelines for choosing a  career.  First of all, we must be careful not to allow our work to distract us from remembering God and observing the commandments in the Quran.  If we become preoccupied with our work to the point that we are distracted from God or we forget to do our contact prayers, it is time to either scale back, refocus or re-evaluate our current work situation.  Also, if a certain line of work may lead you to violate God's commandments in the Quran, you should think twice before you engage in that career.  For example, becoming a swimsuit model for Sports Illustrated is not a good idea.

I see nothing wrong with choosing a sports or entertainment career as long as you are able to observe the guidance of the Quran.  Similarly, I do not feel that boxing is wrong as far as the Quran is concerned. In my opinion, the fighting that God discourages in the Quran deals with entirely different situations.  I agree with you that boxing is not the most desirable career choice.  I also feel there is nothing wrong with watching or participating in competitive sports.  It would be wrong to discourage something that God does not forbid in the Quran.  Participating or watching sports would be a waste of time only if it begins to distract you from God.  A healthy balance of sports is a great way to keep active.  In my opinion, a worthwhile career would be something that allows you to pursue your personal passion while seeking God's provisions, does not distract you from striving in the cause of God, and perhaps even supports your efforts to come closer to God.

Good luck and may God guide you in your decision.

Subject: God, Satan, religion and Natural Desires.

 Assalaamu Álaykum

Please can you clear me of some ideas that have been causing me confusion.  What role does satan play in tempting mankind through worldly desires.  For example if a man finds a woman attractive, surely it is Allah who has made this attraction.  My confusion arises from reading information saying that the devil makes a man find a woman attractive, but surely this view is an act of perversion.  Can you clear this issue for me.  If for example I notice a beautiful woman, at first glance, is it Shaitan who causes me to find her attractive. After reading various information this is what I have concluded, even though it does not seem right.  My personal opinion was always that Allah (SWT) causes this attraction but Shaitan causes evil thoughts.  Thank you

A confused brother

Dear " confused brother";

Thank you for your wonderful question.

Satan's job is to whisper and tempt us to the point that we become pre-occupied, forget God, and sacrifice God's commandments for the sake of worldly pleasures.  Yes, God is the One who has created such beautiful things as nature and even attractive human beings.  If I see a beautiful women, I may for an instant admire her beauty and appreciate God's creation.  Satan's job is to take that very brief appreciation I have for someone's beauty and turn it into a "stare" and try to make me pre-occupied with her beauty and encourage me to think thoughts that are not appropriate.

In the Quran, God invites us to subdue our eyes.  We read in 24:30, "Tell the believing men that they shall subdue their eyes (and not stare at the women), and to maintain their chastity.  This is purer for them..."

The outward appearance of an individual is not as important as what is inside.  For example, if you had to chose between a beautiful women who is an idol worshiper and a not-so-beautiful women who is a sincere and devout Submitter, which would you choose?  If you follow God and the Quran, you would choose the Submitter.  Satan will try to convince us that our attraction to the outside is the most important thing.  I agree with you that the first attraction you have to someone's beauty does not come from Satan.  It's what you do with that first attraction that determines if you have fallen into the trap.  If you are attracted to someone's face and then begin to stare at the person from head to toe, then you have crossed the line.

God bless you,

Chancellor

Subject: Why some Muslims are so bad ??!!.

Hello, my name is W.T. I was taking a look at your website at submission.org about Islam and God. I am muslim and 17 years old. I felt as if I needed to see this page today. It helped me a lot. I wanted to let you know what a great source of information this page is for non-muslims and Muslims.
My father helped build a masjid here, he works right around the corner from the masjid still. I've been attending Islamic school on Saturdays since I was a child. I even attended a private school when I was in eight grade. I've always had so much respect for my father. I don't want to see him as troubled as he is now.

I'm sure you're aware of all the fighting in Palestine. The hate I see on the television between all these Jews and Muslims frightens me. Now it has affected the state where I live. The police are always around the temples and masjids, as of this week they started "protecting" the masjid where I used to go. My father has talked to me about it, but he has also said that these particular cops are not neutral about the decision, first of all they *have* to be there. Secondly, they seem to favor the jewish community. I don't care about all this, neither do the muslims here, none of us have anything against jewish or christian people. My best friend, happens to be jewish.

Now my father seems tired all the time, some man who sued him long ago is after him again. It's bad enough our house is getting rebuilt which took a lot of money to pay for, now this muslim so-called "friend" is suing him again for thousands of dollars. There are so many corrupt muslims around here, I think sometimes. At the moment, there is a 17 year old girl who has moved in with a non-muslim Indian 35 year old man. I am so frustrated, my father tried to help her, he even tried to ask her if he could set her up with another family if she didn't like the one she was with already. Her father beat her step mother up last week, her mother died when she was 5 or 6, and her father drinks. Keep in mind that these people are all Muslims. This minor girl, curses at my father then! This *young* little kid, decides to curse AT MY FATHER!!! He mentioned calling the cops about this situation but I'm not sure if he should get involved. I know he's trying to be a good Muslim but he talked to her this time and look what she said to him! Then there is the problem of my father having a problem with his work, I guess his employee did not do something right with his accountant work and now he has to recheck everything she did. Now he comes home later than ever, he used to come home late before! He works very hard, he looks tired all the time, he has us five to take care of. I even started working for him a week ago. I'm getting very worried about him, he owns his own business. I don't know if he's handling everything alright.

Please, I don't know what to do...can anyone give me some advice? I would greatly appreciate it, I don't mean to get anyone personally involved of course.

Sincerely,

Very Very concerned.

Dear "Very Very Concerned",

Thank you for taking the time to share your situation with us. The best advice I can give you is to turn to God as much as possible.

22:15 If anyone thinks that God cannot support him in this life and in the Hereafter, let him turn completely to (his Creator in) heaven, and sever (his dependence on anyone else). He will then see that this plan eliminates anything that bothers him.

As you know, God is the Lord of the Universe. This same God of ours is also the Best Supporter (4:45) and the Best Provider (22:58). It is important for you to help your father. I think the best help you can give him is to spend a few minutes in the morning and a few minutes at night to read the Quran together. Take the time to re-focus on the bigger picture of why God has created you. There are so many  things going on around you that you become consumed by the emotions, details, and activity. However, everything is happening for a reason and you must put your trust in God. You should also take the time to pray together as a family. God is testing you and your father (29:2-3). A test can be a blessing from God because it gives you the opportunity to become closer to your Creator. Take advantage of this opportunity and strengthen your faith as much as possible. God is the One who provides and withholds (2:245) and He will not test you beyond your capability.

The people who you call muslim who are are violating God's commandments in the Quran are muslim only by name but not by action. Our actual actions and intentions are what make us true muslims (submitters).

May God grant you a powerful support during this period.

Subject: Should I ask for compensation ??!!.

assalam-walaikum folks! hi, how are you?? i pray that you are well and in the best of health. sorry i haven't been in touch for a long time, but i've been really busy with a few problems lol, and trying to keep away from islamic sites to find answers in myself (if you know what i mean). i have become stronger in faith i hope, and not quite such a drama-queen anymore. If something bad happens, i do my best to carry on praying, believing it is a test of my faith. there is always relief at the end of it masha'allah.

i'm emailing because i'd like some advice regarding compensation. you already know my situation and the problems i've faced etc, but that is in part due to something that happened in my past . To cut an extremely long and complex story short, it's regarding an older person who was legally responsible for me, who told lies about me to my family and caused friction. i can't go into too much detail, but i now have a potentially explosive legal situation in my hands - a lot of people are telling lies and covering-up and it's about to blow up into a huge scandal because of the status and position of this person. i have requested that this person gives me a formal apology, and to admit in writing that she lied about me to my family - i did not want money from her because my case was not about money. My lawyer has advised me however to ask for compensation, and after thinking it through very carefully, i'm beginning to see he has a point. i already promised allah that i would give a portion of it to charity if i received any gain from the case - i'm requesting money because that is the only thing she can lose and realise the damage she has done. i never wanted this woman's money, but i feel my hands are tied - her giving me money vindicates me totally and that is my sole aim. money is the only thing she cares for, and me taking money from her is equivalent to what she has taken away from me.
is asking for compensation unislamic? i have already made a promise to allah to give to charity or something - is there a percentage i should give? Before you tell me about forgiveness, i told her last year i was ready to forgive her if she opened up to me.

i've learnt everything happens for a reason and it's only until later on you find out reasons why.

thanks for helping me get where i am today

love and salaams,

D.L.V.

Peace be upon you DLV,

It's wonderful to hear from you again. Thanks for staying in touch.
First, let's read a few verses from the Quran:

25:63 The worshipers of the Most Gracious are those who tread the earth gently, and when the ignorant speak to them, they only utter peace.

41:34-35 Not equal is the good response and the bad response. You shall resort to the nicest possible response. Thus, the one who used to be your enemy, may become your best friend. None can attain this except those who steadfastly persevere. None can attain this except those are are extremely fortunate.

42:37-43 They avoid gross sins and vice, and when angered they forgive. They respond to their Lord by observing the Contact Prayers (Salat)...When gross injustice befalls them, they stand up for their rights. Although the just requital for an injustice is an equivalent retribution, those who pardon and maintain righteousness are rewarded by God. He does not love the unjust...Resorting to patience and forgiveness reflects a true strength of character.

I will let you come to terms with these verses yourself. If you are worried that seeking monetary compensation is wrong, I feel that the following may answer your question: "When gross injustice befalls them, they stand up for their rights. Although the just requital for an injustice is an equivalent retribution..." Of course, the verse continues. I will let you decide what is correct. You should continue to pray to God for guidance and help. He is the only One who can clarify this matter for you. You should read  the Quran from cover to cover. You will receive your answer, inshallah.

As far as the charity part, it's all up to you. At minimum, 2.5% of  the judgment should be set aside for your Zakat. The more you can be charitable without placing a burden on yourself, the better it is for your soul. There is no formula for this in the Quran.

God bless you,

Adam

Subject: Something you have gotten wrong ??!!.

SALAM,

I REALLY LIKE YOU WEBSITE A LOT .I am a 13 year old submitter to islam from Canada. THIS WEBSTIE is a place where all believers can come and strenghten their faith.

I am a Muslim submitter but i was shocked when this website stated that you can eat food from any where by saying bismilallah before starting. INSTEAD OF GOING miles and buying halal food.

I think that Dr.Khalifa had made a mistake in translating the verse 5:3. If you make any arabic reader read that verse he will clearly say that yes it does say that you have to eat the meat that has been slaughtered in the name of allah!

Regards,

S.H.

Peace be upon you,

Thank you for your question. The Quran clearly states that there are only 4 types of prohibited food. I can not see any reference in 5:3 to the fact that only certain people can make your food halal and you have to buy from them. It just doesn't make any sense and the Quran is a book of common sense. God did not make the religion difficult for us. What makes it so different that someone else that I have never met says bismillah and makes the food halal versus me saying it? God is closer to us than our own jugular vein and He hears the prayers of those who pray to him. People have made the religion of Islam very difficult to follow with strict rules based on tradition, not the Quran. As far as I know, the person who makes the food halal can be very insincere inside. Please give this some more thought.

God bless you,

Subject: Jewish teen !!.

Dear Adam and Chancellor,

i am a jewish teen and want to learn more about islam. my family are orthodox jews but i believe in the koran what should i do?

O.J.

Thanks  O.J.for your e-mail.
The best thing to do is to start reading the Quran. There are some wonderful English translations out there. I have enjoyed the translation by Rashad Khalifa. You can download this from submission.org or order it from Amazon.com.   Put your trust in God and pray for guidance and wisdom. In the Quran, we read that God is the only One who guides.

In 2:62 of the Quran, we read

"Surly those who believe, those who are Jewish, Christian and the converts - anyone who believes in God, believes in the Hereafter and leads a righteous life has nothing to fear nor will they grieve."

The key is to submit to God and devote your worship absolutely to Him alone. You are very blessed! Please keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

Subject: Sex Films and Sex Education!!.

Assalamu allikkum,

I am college student, 19 year old,

sex films & sex education is right or wrong for me.?? please mail me. with easy english, with kuran's example. if wrong tell me strightly with kuran's example.

peace

H & H

Peace be upon you H & H,

Sex films are wrong.  Sex education in a good controlled environment in school (college) or with the knowledge of the parents are OK.

Please read these verses from the Quran:

[24:30] Tell the believing men that they shall subdue their eyes (and not stare at the women), and to maintain their chastity. This is purer for them. GOD is fully Cognizant of everything they do.

[24:31] And tell the believing women to subdue their eyes, and maintain their chastity. They shall not reveal any parts of their bodies, except that which is necessary. They shall cover their chests, and shall not relax this code in the presence of other than their husbands, their fathers, the fathers of their husbands, their sons, the sons of their husbands, their brothers, the sons of their brothers, the sons of their sisters, other women, the male servants or employees whose sexual drive has been nullified, or the children who have not reached puberty. They shall not strike their feet when they walk in order to shake and reveal certain details of their bodies. All of you shall repent to GOD, O you believers, that you may succeed.*

Sex films can increase your interest in doing the actual thing and can lead to a bigger sin.

God bless you,

Adam

Subject: Something you have gotten wrong ??!!.

Dear Adam and Chancellor,

I have a problem I hope inshalla you can help me with. I am a 17 year old girl from Canada. My family is Christian, although none of them really practice religion at all. I am living in Bahrin, and since my move here I have learned alot about life and the need for religion in ones life. I have been thinking for many months now if I should become muslim. I believe in Allah,Most Gracious, The Most Merciful, and I have tried to live my life in accordance to what is right. But I have now learned that despite what I have tried to do right, because I am not muslim and I have not done such things such as Pray 5 times, Fasting during Ramadan etc. That I will not be submitted into the Paradise. I want to please God (Allah) and I am sorry for my wrong doings, and I am sorry for being raised in a Christian family. I realize now that the Christians have gone astray. I lived in Canada for 16 years, and I was unaware that of Islam, and I was unaware that what i was doing, and NOT doing (salaat, fasting etc.) was wrong. I have researched, and read and learned as much as I could about Islam and submitters, and I have decided that the only way for me to show Allah that i am truly sorry for everything I have done wrong, is to to Submit. My problem, however, is my family. I am not sure how they will react or what I should tell them. Should I do what is best for myself and submit to Allah's cause? I am truly unsure of what I should do. Please give me any advice you can, it would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a question regarding Islam. I read somewhere that when a person says la illah illallah wa mohammed ur rasul allah..... and they become submitters, that Allah forgives them for all of their past grievencs. Is this true? I have lived 17 years of my life unaware that what I was doing was indeed wrong, will Allah forgive me for the things I have done... or not done if I become muslim?

Sincerely,

Christina

Peace be upon you,

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful question. Let me start with a verse from the Quran that shows you God's infinite mercy and leaves no room to doubt that God will forgive your sins.

[39:53] Proclaim: "O My servants who exceeded the limits, never despair of GOD's mercy. For GOD forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, Most Merciful."

You have received the greatest blessing of being guided to the path of Submission, the religion of Abraham. Now that you know the importance of worshiping God alone, you should focus your attention on pleasing God and not worry about your past. It is important that you ask for forgiveness and repent to God for the wrongs that you feel you have done and then keep your focus on leading a righteous life while believing in God alone. You should never compromise your belief in God for anyone, including to please your own parents. In the end, each one of us faces God as individuals without the help of our parents.

[9:24] Proclaim: "If your parents, your children, your siblings, your spouses, your family, the money you have earned, a business you worry about, and the homes you cherish are more beloved to you than GOD and His messenger, and the striving in His cause, then just wait until GOD brings His judgment." GOD does not guide the wicked people.

You should present your beliefs to your parents in the best possible manner and pray that God gives you the strength, wisdom and patience to deal with this situation. It's not easy, but the reward for your efforts is awesome.

<I also have a question regarding Islam. I read somewhere that when a person says la illah illallah wa mohammed ur rasul allah..... and they become submitters, that Allah forgives them for all of their past grievencs. Is this true? I have lived 17 years of my life unaware that what I was doing was indeed wrong, will Allah forgive me for the things I have done... or not done if I become muslim?>

Becoming a Submitter involves much more than just making a simple statement. Submission to God is a way of life. Anyone who believes in God, leads a righteous life and believes in the Hereafter is a Submitter. You can have a Christian Submitter, a Jewish Submitter, a Muslim Submitter etc.

[2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

You should devote all your submission (Islam) to God ALONE and do not say Mohammed rasul allah during your prayer or next to the name of God in Shahada as these are additions and are not from the Quran..

[72:18] The places of worship belong to GOD; do not call on anyone else beside GOD.

I encourage to continue reading the many articles that appear on www.submission.org. Start reading the Quran from cover to cover. You have no idea how blessed you are to be on this path.

God bless you,

Adam

Subject: Hair dye !!.

Dearest Brother Adam & Chancellor,

I have a very simple question to ask and i find that the answer you would give will be a good reference to all young teenagers.

My question is : Are we muslims permited to dye our hair with a rather natural colour or are we forbidden to do so?

I have more questions to come by but let me seek your help in this one first.

Thank you.

D.H.

Dear D.H.,

There is nothing in the Quran that says you can't dye your hair with any color you like. Many religious leaders have made the pure religion of Islam, which means Submission in English, very difficult with many laws that have nothing to do with the Quran.

Subject: Tattoos and Body piercing ??!!.

Dear Adam & Chancellor,

Salam! first of all i want to say that i love this site. It gave me answers to the hardest of questions that ive been wanting to know for the longest time. i have a question to which ive been trying to search an answer for.
Is body art accepted in islam..such as tattoos and piercing? I am a 16 year old girl, and wanted to know if my prayers and salaat would be accepted if i had my tongue pierced...please answer this...ive been wanting to know for the longest time. Thank you! wasalams!
thanks and god bless,

M.H.

Peace be upon you M.H.,

Thanks for your words of support. It's great to know that you have enjoyed the web site. There is nothing specifically in the Quran which makes it haram to have body art. The intention of your prayer is to remember God (29:45). If you feel that piercing your tongue does not distract you from pronouncing the Arabic prayer correctly and thinking about God, then it is your personal choice. God does say that we should dress nicely and be clean when we go to the Masjid. Perhaps you can make an assumption that certain body art or piercing takes away from this intention to look nice before God. But, this is only a personal interpretation. What is more dangerous is that tattoo and piercing can result in very serious diseases like Aids or Hepatitis because infection is easily transmitted this way. Both Hepatitis and Aids can kill. We should focus on our souls rather than our bodies. Some people do these things to attract attention to  themselves which is also a bad reason since God encourages us to be humble and to tread the earth lightly.

God bless you,

Chancellor

Subject: Touching the Quran

Salaam,

I wrote a while ago asking a question. I forgot to mention these questions. These are urgent as I am leaving in a day and I have to answer to my family. Please could you answer them soon.

Firstly, is it necessary to have wudu before holding the Qur’an? Or can we hold it and read it in any state?

Secondly, I often think that a person born into a family following another religon will always follow what has been taught to him. He will never question what has been taught to him. Then whose fault is it ? if he follows his parent's religon till death? Is there any ayah in the Qur’an that answers this question or provides justification?

Thanks a lot.

Z. A.

Salaam  Z.A.,

There is nothing in the Quran that says you have to get wudu before touching the Quran. This is not God's law. This is tradition. Actuallly this is a Satanic trick to prevent people from reading the Quran and studying it as God commands us in the Quran. Satan wants to make it more difficult to study the Quran. The most dangerous thing anyone can do is make a new law like this and say it's from God. God clearly tells us when we need to get wudu and He tells us exactly how to get it.

Following your parents until death is not an excuse for disbelieving. I do understand your point but God says that everyone will get the message. Following the parents blindly is a common tragedy that we should expect since God talks about it so much in the Quran.

I've attached some verses from you.

God bless you,

Chancellor

[7:172] Recall that your Lord summoned all the descendants of Adam, and had them bear witness for themselves: "Am I not your Lord?" They all said, "Yes. We bear witness." Thus, you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection, "We were not aware of this."

[7:173] Nor can you say, "It was our parents who practiced idolatry, and we simply followed in their footsteps. Will You punish us because of what others have innovated?"

[37:69] They found their parents astray. [37:70] And they blindly followed in their footsteps. [37:71] Most of the previous generations have strayed in the same manner. [37:72] We have sent to them warners. [37:73] Note the consequences for those who have been warned.[37:74] Only GOD's servants who are absolutely devoted to Him alone (are saved).

[2:170] When they are told, "FOLLOW what GOD has revealed herein," they say, "We FOLLOW only what we found our PARENTS doing." What if their PARENTS did not understand, and were not guided?

[6:148] The idol worshipers say, "Had GOD willed, we would not practice idolatry, nor would our PARENTS, nor would we prohibit anything." Thus did those before them disbelieve, until they incurred our retribution. Say, "Do you have any proven knowledge that you can show us? You FOLLOW nothing but conjecture; you only guess."

[7:173] Nor can you say, "It was our PARENTS who practiced idolatry, and we simply FOLLOWed in their footsteps. Will You punish us because of what others have innovated?"

[31:21] When they are told, "FOLLOW these revelations of GOD," they say, "No, we FOLLOW only what we found our PARENTS doing." What if the devil is leading them to the agony of Hell?

[43:22] The fact is that: they said, "We found our PARENTS carrying on certain practices, and we are FOLLOWing in their footsteps."

[43:23] Invariably, when we sent a warner to any community, the leaders of that community would say, "We found our PARENTS FOLLOWing certain practices, and we will continue in their footsteps."

Subject: Is it too late ??!!.

Dear Adam & Chancellor,

I have a question I have been trying for a a few years to be a submitter. But I constantly stray and go long periods were I dont pray and basically don't follow the straight path. I came upon the verse in Quran 3:90 "Those who disbelieve after believing, then plunge deeper into disbelief, their repentance will not be accepted from them; they are the real strayers.

Does this mean that I can no longer come back to submission? I've never stop believing in one God even if my actions have not soon it. Please let me know your opinion on this.

God bless,

D.Z.

Salaam D. Z.,

Thank you for sharing this questions with me. I can only imagine how bad it must feel thinking you can not return to God's path. My interpretation of this verse is a bit different. To me, this verse is talking about someone who has plunged deeper into disbelief and has stayed there. Meaning, there is not effort to come out, repent and reform. What I can read between your lines is that you have a deep desire to worship God but have dropped the ball. It's never too late to pick it up and run with it. Do it! Life is short David. You are here for a specific reason. Take little steps towards God and fight hard not do step back. Of course, we all have times when we lapse. That's why God is the Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Ask for forgiveness, repent and reform. I'll leave you with this verse from the Quran that shows God's infinite mercy:

[39:53] Proclaim: "O My servants who exceeded the limits, never despair of GOD's mercy. For GOD forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, Most Merciful."

God bless you,

Chancellor

Subject: Questioning my Faith ???!!!

Dear Adam and Chancellor: I always keep up with my daily prayers on time and I have always believed in God. But just recently many doubts about God and the day of judgment have come to my mind. I don't know how they came to me, they just did. Would you please tell me how I could get back my faith in God. Please note that I still keep up with my prayers and I am willing to do anything to get back my full faith in God. Need Help

Peace be upon you,

It sounds like you are going through a test. It's natural to have such negative thoughts come to mind. After all, Satan is trying to do his best to distract us. Here's what you need to do. First, continue keeping up with your prayers. Mashallah, you are doing a great job by being consistent. Second, spend more time reading the Quran, especially in the mornings and at night. Third, remember God during the day as often as you can and seek refuge in Him from Satan when you feel the doubts coming to your mind. Fourth, surround yourself with people who are worshiping God. You need to put yourself in a supportive environment. Fifth, ask for forgiveness and repent to God. Remember, you are being tested. Hang in there. Be patient and be strong. Being tested may indicate you will be strengthened in faith after passing the test. That is what testing is for, to show the strength of your faith. If you show your strength, the doubts will start to fade because Satan will know it can't change your mind. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

God bless you,

Adam
