In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Make A Firm Stand

[20:115] We tested Adam in the past, but he forgot, and we found him indecisive.

[10:71] Recite for them the history of Noah. He said to his people, "O my people, if you find my position and my reminding you of God's revelations too much for you, then I put my trust in God. You should get together with your leaders, agree on a final decision among yourselves, then let me know it without delay.

Our Merciful God created this world as He knew that the human beings are capable of redeeming themselves (2:30-39). He gave them a last chance to revise their judgment, upgrade their traits and make a firm stand about His absolute authority. However, to be redeemed, the human being is in need of a constant strife to overcome his flawed nature; he is shortsighted, indecisive, confused, unappreciative, apathetic, despondent, anxious, selfish, transgressor, inconstant, heedless, impatient, greedy, cowardly, doubtful, rebellious, argumentative, disobedient, wicked, liar, unfair, disbeliever, hypocrite ...

[90:4] We created the human being to work hard (to redeem himself).

[55:1] The Most Gracious.
[55:2] Teacher of the Quran.
[55:3] Creator of the human beings.
[55:4] He taught them how to distinguish.

The divine system running this world is that Satan's evil overtakes us when we choose to question God's absolute authority. Therefore, life on earth is a succession of trials, choosing and decision making that expose each human's true convictions. Making a firm stand about the absolute authority of God is an upgrade for our soul quality and a defeat for Satan. It results in God's approval, love, support and forgiveness. Conversely, the indecisiveness about God's absolute authority is an exhibition of one's shortcomings and flawed nature and a ground to earn nothing but God's disapproval with the Satanic misery that follows.

[67:2] The One who created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better. He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.

[22:53] He thus sets up the devil's scheme as a test for those who harbor doubts in their hearts, and those whose hearts are hardened. The wicked must remain with the opposition.

[11:7] He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days - and His (earthly) domain was completely covered with water - in order to test you, to distinguish those among you who work righteousness. Yet, when you say, "You will be resurrected after death," those who disbelieve would say, "This is clearly witchcraft."

[29:3] We have tested those before them, for God must distinguish those who are truthful, and He must expose the liars.

[29:11] God will most certainly distinguish those who believe, and He will most certainly expose the hypocrites.

[3:154] … God thus puts you to the test to bring out your true convictions, and to test what is in your hearts. God is fully aware of the innermost thoughts.

[6:113] This is to let the minds of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to such fabrications, and accept them, and thus expose their real convictions.

[47:31] We will certainly put you to the test, in order to distinguish those among you who strive, and steadfastly persevere. We must expose your true qualities.

Making a firm Stand means making a personal, unwavering stand based on one's solid beliefs or convictions and continuing to hold on that irrespective of all forms of pressures and/or disagreements with the mainstream ideologies.

Making a firm stand about God's absolute authority implies nothing but unconditionally siding with His proven truth and upholding it seriously and literally even if this would make us in the minority and cost us the loss of the "social privileges" of being in the majority.

[5:100] Proclaim: "The bad and the good are not the same, even if the abundance of the bad may impress you. You shall reverence God, (even if you are in the minority) O you who possess intelligence, that you may succeed."

[3:146] Many a prophet had godly people fight along with him, without ever wavering under pressure in the cause of God, nor did they hesitate or become discouraged. God loves the steadfast

[6:33] We know that you may be saddened by what they say. You should know that it is not you that they reject; it is God's revelations that the wicked disregard.

[29:25] He said, "You worship beside God powerless idols due to peer pressure, just to preserve some friendship among you in this worldly life. But then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will disown one another, and curse one another. Your destiny is Hell, wherein you cannot help one another."

[34:20] Satan found them readily fulfilling his expectations. They followed him, except a few believers.
34:21 He never had any power over them. But we thus distinguish those who believe in the Hereafter from those who are doubtful about it. Your Lord is in full control of all things.

[6:116] If you obey the majority of people on earth, they will divert you from the path of God. They follow only conjecture; they only guess.

[12:103] Most people, no matter what you do, will not believe.
[12:104] You are not asking them for any money; you simply deliver this reminder for all the people.
[12:105] So many proofs in the heavens and the earth are given to them, but they pass by them, heedlessly!
[12:106] The majority of those who believe in God do not do so without committing idol worship.

Making a firm stand about God's absolute authority is a firm stand against apathy; tireless and uninterrupted effort to side with and promote God's proven truth and the ability to always overcome the weak moments of passiveness.

[4:95] Not equal are the sedentary among the believers who are not handicapped, and those who strive in the cause of God with their money and their lives. God exalts the strivers with their money and their lives above the sedentary. For both, God promises salvation, but God exalts the strivers over the sedentary with a great recompense.

[9:42] If there were a quick material gain, and a short journey, they would have followed you. But the striving is just too much for them. They will swear by God: "If we could, we would have mobilized with you." They thus hurt themselves, and God knows that they are liars.

[9:81] The sedentary rejoiced in their staying behind the messenger of God, and hated to strive with their money and their lives in the cause of God. They said, "Let us not mobilize in this heat!" Say, "The fire of Hell is much hotter," if they could only comprehend.

[4:77] Have you noted those who were told, "You do not have to fight; all you need to do is observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat)," then, when fighting was decreed for them, they feared the people as much as they feared God, or even more? They said, "Our Lord, why did You force this fighting on us? If only You respite us for awhile!" Say, "The materials of this world are nil, while the Hereafter is far better for the righteous, and you never suffer the slightest injustice."

Making a firm stand means to never get pressured to compromise God's black and white words in Quran in the expense of any form of gain. As God indicates in Quran any gain is so cheap if the price is His words, His commands, His teachings, and His ethics.

[72:14] " `Among us are the submitters, and among us are the compromisers.' " As for those who submitted, they are on the right path. [72:15] As for the compromisers, they will be fuel for Gehenna.

[5:44] ...Therefore, do not reverence human beings; you shall reverence Me instead. And do not trade away My revelations for a cheap price. Those who do not rule in accordance with God's revelations are the disbelievers.

Making a firm stand is exhibiting a total submission and an unshakable trust in God's divine will and systems. Our anxious, arrogant and ignorant nature usually impairs our understanding and boosts our egos to blindly reject or violate His black and white words. We should learn some profound lessons from Moses' stories in 2:67-71 and 18:60-82.

Making a firm stand about God's absolute authority is always a difficult choice. Making a firm stand to give the real eternal life with God a priority over this earthly illusion is always a difficult choice. Making a firm stand that would have a "negative" impact on this world's "common" gains and privileges is always a difficult choice. Making a firm stand to unconditionally side with the divine word of God with total dedication and with no compromise is always a difficult choice. Killing our egos to readily accept God's decreed will and judgment and to stand firm and courageous against falsehood and falsifiers is always a difficult choice. God will direct those who reverence His meeting to all that would bring easiness.

[90:10] Did we not show him the two paths?
[90:11] He should choose the difficult path.
[90:12] Which one is the difficult path?
[90:13] The freeing of slaves.
[90:14] Feeding, during the time of hardship.
[90:15] Orphans who are related.
[90:16] Or the poor who is in need.
[90:17] And being one of those who believe, and exhorting one another to be steadfast, and exhorting one another to be kind.
[90:18] These have deserved happiness.
[90:19] As for those who disbelieved in our revelations, they have incurred misery.
[90:20] They will be confined in the Hellfire.

[92:4] Your works are of various kinds. [92:5] As for him who gives to charity and maintains REVERENCE (righteousness).
[92:6] And BELIEVES IN ALL THAT IS RIGHTEOUS (upholds the scripture).
[92:7] We will direct him towards EASINESS (happiness).
[92:8] But he who is stingy, though he is rich.
[92:9] And disbelieves in the scripture.
[92:10] We will direct him towards DIFFICULTIES (misery).

Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
